Vystudoval výtvarný obor PF UK v Praze, kde byl žákem prof. Ladislava Leitgeba, Cyrila Boudy, Martina Salcmana a Karla Lidického. Později studoval scénografii a dějiny umění. Poučení šlo tedy směrem malířským a sochařským. Autor se věnuje především keramice, malbě a kresbě.

Své práce představil na více než 70 samostatných výstavách. V zahraničí vystavoval např. v Mnichově, Frankfurtu, Tokiu, Paříži, Budapešti. Je zastoupen ve sbírkách v ČR, Německu, Japonsku, USA, Švýcarsku, Rakousku, Švédsku, Holandsku, Francii, Itálii…

Jeho keramická tvorba je zaměřena na volné keramické objekty, reliéfy a na keramiku pro architekturu. Zabývá se i plastikou ze dřeva a kamene. V poslední době intenzivně maluje, kreslí i fotografuje. Používá akryl, pastel, rád v celé tvorbě kombinuje techniky a materiály. V řadě případů vytváří cykly prací, jak v tematické, myšlenkové i výtvarné rovině. Podobně jako v keramice, se také kresba a malba nachází ve volné abstraktní poloze. Autor se zajímá o proměnu mezi viděným a transformací viděného, pohyb na hranici reálného a imaginárního, vnějšího a vnitřního, konkrétního a abstraktního. Barevnost, kontrast struktur, někde přechází v lyricky hladké zpracování plochy. Často je akceptována kresba rytá, škrábaná či řezaná. Prostory obrazů a kreseb jsou vyplněny magickými elementy, kompozice je řešena s citem pro barevnost, světlo, celek i detail, vždy ale s výtvarnou přesvědčivostí v jednoduchosti sdělení.

Pavel Rajdl je kurátorem kolínské Galerie V Zahradě, kterou založil v roce 1992 – www.galerie-kolin.cz . Od roku 1994 organizuje pravidelná bienále Keramická setkání. V roce 2006 položil základ trvalé expozice Současné keramiky ve výstavních prostorech pod kolínskou synagogou. Je kurátorem i Studiové scény Pod točnou pod městským divadlem – www.divadlokolin.cz .

Autor je členem Sdružení výtvarných umělců – keramiků www.artceramics.cz a Středočeského sdružení výtvarníků Unie výtvarných umělců ČR.

Pavel Rajdl, an alumnus of the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague, former student of Prof. Ladislav Leitgeb, Cyril Bouda, Martin Salcman and Karel Lidický. Later, he studied Scenography and Art History, which means that his formal studies took the course of painting and sculpting. In his works, the author prefers ceramics, painting, and drawing.

So far, he has presented his works in more than 70 solo exhibitions. He has exhibited his work in Munich, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Paris, and Budapest. His work are included in collections in the Czech Republik, Germany, Japan, U.S.A., Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, and Italy.

His ceramic production focuses on solitary ceramic artefacts, reliefs, and ceramics in architecture. He also deals with stone sculptures and wood carvings. Recently, he has pursued intense in painting, drawing, and taking photographs. Similarly to his ceramic works, his paintings and drawings also fellow free, abstract forms. The autor is interested in alterations between perception of objects and transformation of visual reality, and in movement on the boundary of reality and imagination, inner and outer space, specific and abstract worlds. The colouring, the contrast of structures sometimes transform into lyric and smooth elaboration of the surface. He often accepts carved, scratched, and cut drawing. Magic elements fill the space of his paintings and drawings; their composition is solved with the sense of colour, light, entirety und detail, always with visual sureness in the simplicity of message.

Pavel Rajdl is the curator of „Galerie V Zahradě“ in Kolín, witch he founded in 1992 (www.galerie-kolin.cz). Since 1994 he has organized regular Biennales „Keramická setkání“. In 2006 founded the basis for the permanent exhibition of Contemporary ceramics in the rooms below the Kolín Synagogue. He is also the curator of a Studio scene „Pod točnou“ in Kolín municipal theatre( www.divadlokolin.cz).

The author is a member of Association of Visual Artists – Ceramics (www.artceramics.cz) and the Central Bohemia Association of Visual Artists, a section of the Union of the Visual Artists of the Czech Republic.
